UPDATE!
Thanksto one generous angel this chipin has been adjusted from $3800 to now$1200, that is UNDER four bucks for each of my friends... I'll give upmy White Chocolate Mocha for the day, will you? Once this debt is paidwe can focus on moving forward - don't forget we have five darlingpooches in search of homes ?
Update Since Original Post
Sophie is doing extremely well in her foster home with other dogs to play with. She is still a bit shy since being in boarding so long, but is coming around quite quickly. This energetic girl loves to go on walks with her current 10 year old guardians and romping through the yard with her foster family's dogs. She loves to chase kitties but clearly would not harm one, we will continue to work on that with her and teach her that kitties are our friends, but for now is listed as an adoptable dog with no cats in the home.

Ciera and Sophie were both featured on San Diego CW6 last Thursday leading to some applications which subsequently lead to Ciera finding a forever home... with her foster family <3

Remaining in our rescue's care are Nyko (in boarding at $15 per day), Sophie, Tink, Sirius "Jack" Black and Nemo who are seeking homes.

In the meantime we are offering courtesy listings to spayed and neutered pets who need rehoming; we are NOT actively rescuing until our corporation is debt free.

Thank you thus far for your generous contributions.

Nyko's Assessment
WellI spent about a half an hour with Nyko today - he is extremely shy but notaggressive toward humans. What he needs is an experienced home that canexercise him daily, he'd be a could candidate as a running partner ortrail companion. He came around to me pretty fast and Randy twice asfast. Bob said he came in fear aggressive toward men, but warmed up tome and Jake quickly as we allowed him to approach us, he came around toRandy who was chatting with Bob about money and kept sneaking up tosniff and lick.

There was an 8-9 month old Pit Puppy hanging outwith him in the yard and they did fine, there was also a Chihuahua inanother pen who he paid no attention to. He is completely trained, doesnot jump up although you can see he'd like to - he knows sit well

Bobsays he plays daily with Summer and Charlotte as well as a dog namedRob. I think he is a good candidate for adoption to an experienced dogperson..

Emergency Funds Needed
I need foster homes, people to network for donations and get these dogs out on craigslist and let's find them forever homes

Boarding bill at Tiggeroo Kennels - owed $285 - Bob Barker at 760-473-5602 needs payment

Mill Creek Vet - yes, as rumor has it IS owed approximately $4000, but$1000 of that is my personal pets who I have been doing my best to paydown regularly - $3000 is for Clifford's care - he had multipleailments requiring him to be hospitalized at $45 per day plus multiplexrays as his leg repair was not done as well as we had planned

Their number is 530-384-1700 and they take payments over the phone -make SURE to say it is for Clifford's bill from Critter Crossings

I am hopeful the person that adopted Hunter will pay for her eye surgery of $350 eliminating that from the bill

Any other donations can go toward Sophie's boarding bill UNTIL I canfind her a home or a foster to get her out of boarding - that is $15per day and is also due to Tiggeroo Kennels (at least that is mycurrent understanding of her location).

Remaining dogs needing homes are:

Ciera - http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=11298884
3 year old Pug/Chihuahua mix

Lilly - although I am not certain of her location, she is a Pit Bull I'm not sure why they have her listed as otherwise - http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=11894523

Bacon, who was available yesterday is no longer listed???

Nyko I will not place - my recommendation was euthanasia for this dog,but the other group has placed him in boarding - if you would like todonate toward his boarding call 818-841-0671 - if this dog is returnedto my group he will be humanely euthanized.

I have asked for the passwords to my accounts as well as all invoicesand outstanding vet care information. My request to regain control ofmy rescue was put in on Saturday.

Check back frequently - I will post updates as I have them.

Sophie Needs Bail!
GOAL:$900
NEEDED BY: wed 4/1/09
Please donate through paypal.com : crittercrossingsfounder@yahoo.com

Hello Everyone,
I am writing on behalf of a needy girl in myrescue, Sophie. Sophie is only a year old and due to circumstancesbeyond my control has been in boarding for some time. I have beennotified that I have until Wednesday April 1st to come collect her andpay her bill in full or the facility will call animal controlto come get her. Money is tight, as always, but with dogs in boarding, the prior parvo outbreak, and expensive surgeries needed for some dogsit's tighter than normal. I am worried without the necessary donationsI may not be able to get Sophie out of boarding by Wed and to my housewhere she will be safe until she is adopted. She is being housed at theAvocado animal hospital/boarding in Fallbrook. Unfortunately they don'ttake donations over the phone, so please give whatever you can to theCritter Crossings paypal to help me get enough to spring Sophie andprevent her from having to end up in the shelter..again. This sweetgirl deserves better
than that.

Pleasehelp us get this sweet girl out of boarding, away from the shelter andinto a forever home. Even the smallest amount helps. Thank you all.

Sophie has already been inside a shelter once, PLEASE help us prevent this from happening twice
